Newsletter #1: The Pinocchio in All of Us

Pinocchio is the character we were all told not to be—naïve, mischievous, dishonest to his father and the Blue Fairy, and often ignoring the wise voice of the Talking Cricket.

But if we’re honest, haven’t we all, at some point in life, made similar mistakes? In personal finance, relationships, or our daily decisions, many of us have acted like Pinocchio—ignoring good advice, giving in to temptation, or pretending everything was fine when it wasn’t.

Even though we are “real” human beings, the question is: are we brave enough to face our past missteps, talk openly about them, and take the steps needed to grow? That’s what true maturity and discipline look like.

This blog is not about shame—it’s about growth. It’s okay to admit that we’ve been Pinocchio. What matters is whether we’re willing to listen to our own inner “Talking Cricket” (or someone else’s), learn from our mistakes, and help others do the same.

Let’s become each other’s wise guide, sharing honest insights and financial lessons. Let’s also have the courage to confront the naive, impulsive side of ourselves that got us into trouble—and choose a better path going forward.

This is just the beginning.

“I’ve got no strings.”
